If a seal of a hydraulic pneumatic component is not closed, the product of the hydraulic pneumatic component is not a good product. There are many factors affecting the seal. First, pressure is an important factor affecting the quality of the seal. The height of the pressure, the length of the cycle of pressure cycle change, has a great influence on the damage of the seal (such as extrusion). The higher the pressure, the greater the effect of other factors on the performance of the seal, such as temperature, speed, the material of the seal, the gap between the piston and cylinder, and the gap between the piston and the cylinder head. Another one is temperature and friction, it is difficult to describe the maximum use temperature and minimum temperature of a seal material, because it is the result of a series of factors. For piston and piston rod working temperature is different, we need to make a difference choice between them. Another is the surface roughness of the seal, the surface characteristics, the pressure, the medium, the temperature, the material of the seal, the type of seal and the speed of movement, which are all factors affecting the seal. The last is surface treatment. Experience shows that the characteristics of the surface of the cylinder piston and piston rod have a great influence on the life of the seal. Surface properties are usually defined by the value of surface roughness RA. RA is the arithmetic mean of the surface shape deviating from the absolute value of the centerline. However, some values do not fully indicate the effect of surface conditions on the seals, because even under the same roughness, different surface shape features can lead to the wear of seals of different degrees to the seal.
